Staff signups for Shining Hearth will close tomorrow, December 2. If you have been thinking about helping out as a mod or assistant but not signed up yet, the form is still open. As always, we encourage subscribing to the newsletter. (We occasionally have problems with the confirmation email not being delivered, so check your spam folder, and if you still don’t see it, send an email to staff@shininghearth.net and we’ll get it sorted one way or another.)

Presenter signups for Shining Hearth are still open at https://forms.gle/V3hYJnos9NLBNM8Y6. Honestly, we’re really hoping there are people out there still brooding over their ideas, because so far we have zero form submissions (although we have received a few emails and other messages from people discussing ideas).

Maybe you’re thinking “OMG, no way could I do that. I have no ideas and no one would want to listen to me anyway.” Our advice? It’s not speech class. Try to think of it as a chat with some friends at a party. Anything that could be of interest to the elven-faerie sphere that you can ramble about for around 45-50 minutes will probably work. No PowerPoint required! (Although if you do one of those parody things with Comic Sans we’ll be highly amused)

If you are open to the idea of presenting in a group but don’t already have any partners … There’s a place to indicate that on the signup form, and we have a #looking-for-group channel on the server where you can suggest your idea!

If you want to help out with a presentation but you can’t think of a topic yet … don’t worry, just skip the question that asks for the presentation title/description and submit the form anyway. We have a #planning channel on the server where you can toss ideas around.
