… of me implementing live chat on the site?

Nothing definite yet, but it's a possibility I'm thinking about. alien

Oh, yeah, and the WordPress install has been upgraded to 3.0, the k2 style has been upgraded to the most recent release, and the forums have been upgraded to a new version. Let me know if there are bugs. The issue with the editors descriptions not being visible on the profile page should be fixed now.

Still working on letting users pick their own style site-wide, Cas. Sorry, it really is complex to implement, especially since the forums use a separate css file to skin them from the rest of the site. Looking into a workaround for changing both.

It’s not a bad idea and it’s something some people on other boards seem interested in and/or confused or disappointed if absent, but personally I don’t really have time or inclination for chat rooms anymore and you’d be unlikely to see me in it.

That's fair… I'm still debating if I have the time and energy to stay in it enough to moderate it, myself. And I know there are other sites that offer it… I've been hanging out a bit on GratuitousNonHumanty's chatroom over on deviantart for a while now. So it may be unnecessary duplication of effort. Still, I'm at least curious about what might come out of it. And I have a certain nostalgia for the old days when a lot of us first met on IRC…

Btw, speaking of other sites: have you heard anything about what's happened with otherkincommunity.net? They seem to have just disappeared, the entire site.

I might be interested… an issue may just be getting everyone in at the same time, with different schedules, time zones and all that. Looking at the board, the replies usually seem to come in at rather different times.

No, as I said, I don’t really read or post there anymore. But last I looked (within the past month?) they were going strong enough so my guess, without actually knowing, would be a SNAFU with domain renewal or some technical failure at their host.
