I’m actually incredibly surprised at how well things are falling into place today. This morning I recovered a book on magic I thought I lost, and now just as I was pondering sigil magic, I happened to see this.

Thank you for sharing this! I think I might have found my new favorite quote:

I’m new to all of this, so just to clarify – the “Spare” everyone keeps mentioning is Austin Osman Spare, right?

Yes, the Spare mentioned is Austin Osman Spare. They’re specifically talking about the sigilization technique that he popularized in his works The Book of Pleasure and The ZoÃ«tic Grimoire of Zos. A beginner’s introduction to that technique can be found over at the Chaos Matrix, written by Fireclown. Â

@arethinn: You wouldn’t happen to know if that Fireclown is the same individual who used to go by that name in the otherkin community, would you?
