Well, we’re happy to have you. 🙂 (Personally I prefer the html editor to rich text mode. The text is positively tiny with the former, but I still find it easier to use. smile)

I'm actually feeling a bit out of place here after reading all the intros talking about elves and walkins and multiples and and and and well, everything else *eyes boggle* so I apologize in advance

Oh hon, please don’t. I feel like I’m practically majoring in “otherkin studies” at this point, there’s always been so much to learn.

Hi there! alien  Don't worry, the person who suggested you sign up here doesn't actually post here a lot herself, despite me repeatedly poking her about that. wink As for the formatting, that's not a wordpress issue it's specific to this third-party forums module we're using.  So far, I like the thing, but the rich text editor is rather quirky.  I believe if you go to your forum profile under the Personal Options tab you can select different editors to use.

*chuckles* What's the saying, “no such thing as a dumb question”?  I don't expect everyone who comes here to be familiar with otherkin stuff.  I know you've got me beat hands down on accumulated knowledge of living vampires and the vampire community, for all that I'm a regular donor for one.  If there's anything you're not familiar with and would like to know more about, or have clarified about otherkin, please don't hesitate to ask.  If we know the answer, we'll share.  If not, I bet someone will tackle trying to find out.  And don't be afraid to state your own POV and argue with us. Different points of view are great, they help us see our blind spots.  Or, at the very least, they force us to be able to defend our positions. wink

Hey there!

Name's Aeldra tho I you can find me on OKP and OKA as Shailla. It's been few years since I've been active on some 'Kin forum.

Anyway, I'm 23yo incarnated in male body located at Prague, Czech Republic. When I was 16 I started out as a vampire, practicing psi vampirism, shielding and OOBE. Around 18 I was introduced to Otherkin stuff by friend and after some time labeled myself as demon. Since then I was doing lots of meditations, soulsearching and different kinds of energy work. After few months suddenly another person poped up in my head and I spent about half a year as multiple system. After that I politely asked her to leave and so she did. Just 4 months before hitting 21 I started practicing ritual magic (mostly esoteric voodoo a.k.a voudon, Rökkr and awakening rituals).

To this day I found out that there's more level of awakening which are connected to different energies, mindsets and so on.. But it's still me. First is this human-self, also sometimes called “mask” that bears name Will, awakened me in this body often called Aeldra. Well, this will get hard to explain but will try;

You can understand Will as power and action and Aeldra as inteligence and tactic. I'm being that isn't complete without my Goddess but I bear her essence within myself and I do believe that she has part of my essence within her. This allows me to feel complete even without being with her. This is state I spend most time in.

Another level of awakened state is dragon-me (this is connected with specific draconic like energies, that are kinda strong, raw and in this case male-like). This is my more pure form but kinda requires Goddess or someone who can take her place for the time being (you can understand it that in this state I can generate and manipulate rather big amount of energy but need someone who sees and understands more than I do (which is role of the Goddess) as I'm rather ignorant).

And the most awakened state I'm aware of is me as pure extremely soft/silky fire being (entity) with female-like aspect.

This is how I understand things at the moment and it all might change in the future since I'm planning on exploring and understanding myself more and more.

To summarize it and make it easier, you can say that I'm one side of the coin – power, action, pursuance meanwhile the other side is god/goddess who is knowledge, wisdom and inteligence (but both sides contain both to some degree).

Some interesting stuff about me.. I do practice ritual magic, mainly intuitive magic that has been over the past year focused on awakening and realizing my true self here. I do practice Michele Beriaux's Esoteric Voudon. I've also attained status of Bishop of Gnostic church tied with voudon given to me by Allen Greenfield who is Bertiaux's personal student. I've also experimented with physical shapeshiting little bit. Also with my friend we practice something we named Primal Witchcraft which is working with primal and raw energies that are mainly tied to instinct-like emotions like hate, fear, pain and other and it doesn't have any rules.

Well, that should be enought about me. If there's anything you are pondering or don't understand feel free to ask!

Sorry for bad wording and grammar but english isn't my main language and this is something I have problems to express in right way even in my mother tongue.

Hi Aeldra! 🙂 Welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to really go into a lengthy reply right now, but I found your introduction very interesting and you seemed to express yourself very well for having English as a second language. 🙂

Thanks!

I'm rather busy person myself so I understand that might take sometime to get lenghty reply.

Anyway, my intros tend to be longer as there's still some stuff I didn't mention but was lazy to write it all down 🙂

Very interesting introduction, nice to meet you. Also, your grammar was perfectly fine, although I do not currently “speak” two languages, I had to learn a second, nameless language before I actually was able to properly learn English, so I know what it is like using a secondary tongue to what is most natural. unfortunately my natural language would simply not function with human vocal cords or mouth and jaw shape, but I learned to speak later than most because I had to at least remember the sounds of that language before I could stay focused enough to learn English.

Hi there. =) I know this greeting has been a long time coming, but you sound very interesting, and we will have to talk more about energywork and magic. I started learning when I was 16 as well, although my path has since taken a different turn and I have never studied much in the way of high magick. I am especially curious about your experiments with shape-shifting, which is something I have also tried to do. Anyway, it’s very nice to meet you. =)

You know, I just realized that I never posted an intro here.  Hmmm.  I hate these things.

Let's see.   I am emale, over 30 and a lab tech professionally.  That stays absolutely seperate from my online persona, as I am a scientist at work and more of a mystic at home.  I tend to try to approach occult problems with the attitude of eliminating all plausible rational explanations first, but then also logically progressing through the paranormal ones when I get to that point.

I am well known for being rather brutally blunt, so if you have tender, delicate feelings, you have been warned.  I have a very low drama threshold…it is why I left the otherkin community to begin with.  Oh, for the mystical stuff, I do identify as a sanguinarian vampire and I do eat/drink animals as well as human and Otherkin willing donors.  Often that results in the death of smaller animals, for which reason I am not welcome in the “we are symbiotes and not predators” bullshit that fills the Sang vamp community.  I left that too due to drama and whining.

These days I am a solitary practicioner for the most part, save for working with and having discussion with a couple of people on these boards in real life.  I do spagyric alchemy, including a vinegar tincture to help other sang vamps with their cravings, a necromantic ointment and blessing powders.  I also do a lot of crafts, including silversmithing, gemstone cutting, leather working, bone working, wood carving, glass fusing, beading and working with whatever other material comes my way to make occult talismans and enchanted objects.  The Doctor and a few others on here have some of my work in their collections.

Metaphysically, my favorite quote is by Draja Mickaharic, my favorite occult author.  What a coincidence.

“The effects of magic should be as visible and apparent to nonmagicians as changing the color of paint on a wall.  If that is not the case, it is only mental masturbation and should be ignored.”

That sums up my attitude towards magic.  It should be practical, and have a definite, visible effect on the world that anyone can see, whether or not they have the Sight.  As such, I tend towards “Low Magic” with lots of talisman making (as mentioned before) and I am firmly and contentedly Dark Path.  What do I mean by that?  I mean that in the event of serious, permanent damage being done deliberately to me or mine, I have no problem with, as my Palo friend Hollie says, “Being the instrument of Karma” and forcing redress for said grievance physically, socially or magically.  It takes a lot to push me to that point though, as magic is a hell of a lot of work, and calling in spirit favors means you do not have those favors in the future when you need them more.

My practice includes divination, daily meditations, rituals, alchemical Workings and small blood offerings to the gods I work with.  These are primarily Aztec and Mayan, but also include some from Vodoun, Ancient Egypt and Sumeria.  Basically, like the Santeria folks, I stick to what works and to the deities who listen and actually intercede on my behalf.  I also pay them for their services with offerings.  I don't like to be in debt to any one or any thing.

While Jarin and The Doctor work with energy, I do not for the most part.  I can see and perceive it, but stuff like Reiki is actually poisonous to me due to all the necromancy I do.  Life energy and Death energy do not mix well.

Hello again.

I am sensitive, yes.

With all due respect to Mickaharic, that's the sound of a mage who lives for the attention. There are so many things that aren't visible or apparent. Does that mean they simply aren't there? Does that mean we shouldn't be concerned with them? I think not. He's just projecting the very thing he's (likely) doing onto anyone who believes in more than meets the eye.

Wow. I can't imagine Reiki being poisonous. I'll remember to keep my Reiki-related stuff well under cuts and appropriate labels on websites, then.

Liryen, Mickaharic is the opposite of “A mage who lives for attention”.  He is one of the most humble mages I have ever read, and I admire him for his eminent practicality.  To not be able the see a thing but still be able to perceive it, one must apply logic.  It is reasonable to admit the likelihood of quantum physics for reasons such as the results of the double slit experiment and the elegant math upholding it, but I have certainly never seen a positron or quark.  In the same vein, Magic itself does not consist necessarily of throwing fireballs, but it should have a measurable effect.

Here's an example.  A roommate is taken in to my home and proceeds to make a pain of himself.  One of my friends offers to do a working after I ask him to move out by Jan. 1 because she feels that he is making my life miserable via stress, which he is.  So she takes an item belonging to said roommate home with her.  Three weeks or so later, a friend of my roommate's who has been terribly, debilitatingly ill for a long time has a sudden stroke, and my roommate decides on Friday to move out on Sunday to be with them before they take him off life support.

That is a real, physical effect from a magical source, and one that I agree with.  The friend was already dying and in pain and racking up huge medical bills, so I feel no guilt whatsoever for my part in it.  I also laid out my situation before the gods I work with and how it was affecting me.  What they chose to do about it certainly does resonate towards me, but is their choice.

Many of the cultures who practiced magic had no other resource.  Poor people in Haiti live in a culture of corruption and abuse, so is it any wonder that they use magic in self defense that would horrify “White Lighters?”  Such individuals have rarely if ever been abused by a culture or power structure to such an extent.  Thus they have the luxury of pretending that if it came to their very survival they would not use every resource at their disposal, even ones that their neighbors might frown upon.  When I was homeless, I used magic to hide my theft of the warm clothing I needed to keep from freezing to death and the food I needed to eat (mostly canned goods).  I used it to “be invisible” to security systems and to make my illegal fires for warmth unnoticeable.  I have used magic to hunt animal prey before and to basically force a person to back down from fighting me as a security guard.  I did these things for survival and safety and feel no guilt or shame over my actions.  Magic to me must be practical for me to spend the time and effort (18 years of study) on it or I would have started doing something else instead.  It is not just some silly game I play in my head, but a real skill that takes years to develop.  In Mickaharic's books he mentions that to get to the point where you are worth a teacher's time to become an apprentice takes about 4 years of daily self study and serious work.  That sounds about right to me.

Reiki is based on light to answer your other comment.  My energy is death and shadow, as with many sanguinarians, plus my energy system is set up differently.  Just like practicing Necromancy can be harmful to a nonkin or a mage who is not naturally aligned with death (see the discussion on the hazards of necromancy on this page http://www23.brinkster.com/falcis/  under necromantic transfiguration), or who does not have a death deity as a patron, practicing light or certain fertility magic is poisonous to me.  Reiki is just energy flavored with light and can certainly be damaging…just remember that sunlight can cause sunburns and lasers can also scorch skin.

Squeeee! I found the HTML editor button!

*giggles* Well, you could always plug your site… http://sphynxcatvp.nocturna.org/ For folks that don't know, Sphynx runs one of the older and more extensive online resources for real vampires.

Hee! Yes, and despite the years of that, I *still* have trouble making posts on forums, lol *grins*

If memory serves, you also run something (I forget the proper terminology) on Second Life and I don't even know what all else.

Oh, true, in Second Life there's currently 3 areas with more than a “mention in passing” of real vampires: The Sanguinarius Community Center (which I co-run, and do most of the maintenance on) – if you're in Second Life and want to check it out, just look for “sanguinarius.org” in Second Life search.

Bwahahaha… I'm locking this thread so that the next person to post an intro will *have* to make their own thread rather than reusing this one.  Sorry folks but one thread for every intro is really getting out of hand, I have a hard time even telling if I've replied to everyone's intro at this point… apologies to anyone if I've not!
