Terminology | Vampires and Energy-Hungerers | Forums

I heard a new term the yesterday that I liked, very much.  “Energy-hungerer“.  I liked it enough that I included it in the name of this board when I restructured the forum.  Why?  Because, to me, being a vampire means taking blood or energy from another living being–or at least that another living being has produced, as in the case of ambient feeding.  

But I see a lot of people these days calling themselves vampires who don’t do that.  Who talk about feeding from other sources.  Trees.  The Ocean.  Stars.  The Sun.  I can’t see that as vampirism.  But I certainly can’t deny that these people may have a need for energy.  I need certain energies myself for my own health and well-being.  At one point I believed the only way I could get those energies was by feeding from others.  With time and experience I figured out exactly which energies were the ones I needed and that feeding off others was not the only, or even the best, way of getting what I personally required.

I think “energy-hungerer” fills in that gap nicely.
