Apologies in advance if this kind of link sharing isn’t allowed. I made some photo manip type portraits with a program called ArtBreeder the other day, including some elves. And wanted to vaingloriously show them off, uh I mean, share them.Â
Ancient of Days
What’s with the odd open-mouthed expressions on some of them? Is it just something that the AI tends to devolve to with certain source photos (I assume there is AI involved here)?
I rather like this one: https://artbreeder.com/i?k=bc4548e20a88c233050d
Thanks! You are correct about the AI – I’ve never really seen anything like this program before, but basically how it works is you smoosh one picture with another (or as many as you want), and the AI generates a “child” image from the “parents”. Once you create an image you own it, but other users can use it as a parent for their own creations.Â
The open-mouthed expressions are – uh – how do I put this – elves having “a good time”. (To borrow a euphemism from this rather NSFW video clip, featuring early ’90s furry art by Brian Swords of York.)Â
These are some examples of the “lineage” or family trees (lol) of some pictures.Â

It’s pretty fun! I wish it was possible to do more than portraits, landscapes, and album covers, but the AI isn’t quite there yet, at least with this particular application.Â
