I've added a new feature to the site, which will display the list of users currently in the channel in a widget at the top of the right sidebar.  Figured it would help give visitors an idea of when the channel is in use, apart from the regularly scheduled chats.  Maybe even attract some new folks.  It updates every five minutes as long as the channel bot, Faunus, is active.  Should the channel bot go offline, it will continue to list the users who were in the channel when last the bot was online.  Not a perfect solution, I know, but best I can do right now given dreamhost's rules about connecting to IRC through their servers.  This is currently being accomplished by the bot uploading a text file of the channel's users to the dreamhost server every five minutes.
