Hm. I certainly haven’t done this a lot. “Roleplaying” can have at least a couple of meanings, though.

In the sense of published game worlds with dice or other adjudication rules, I’ve sort of woven in some elements on a couple of occasions, but nothing very direct. For example, I played a Sidhe briefly in a Changeling: the Dreaming game, but she wasn’t intended to be an accurate depiction of me, or even really an idealized me or anything like that. I also had a fairly long-running Malkavian character in a Vampire game that I chose to give the background detail of having been an unawakened Sidhe before she was Embraced (which would destroy the faerie soul in the process). Nor have I seriously mocked myself up in anything freeform like Second Life/Inworldz nor in standard MMOs like Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online, etc.

Then there is the sense of pseudo-actions e.g. “*rustles wings*” or “*perches in the rafters*”, which I have been known to do now and again in certain threads – not really in current forums per se, more like in the email list days of yore, but it’s sort of the same idea – and particularly in IRC. I don’t really think of this as “roleplaying”, though, more like conceiving of the e-space as if it were a physical one, or something more akin to adding flavor with emoticons.
