Does anyone here experience their nonhuman lives as concurrent with this one, rather than past? Like you're living both, at the same time, on two parallel worlds?
I've only known one person in the community who talked about their other lives in those terms. Â But I recently found a whole community of otherkin who apparently experience something along those lines, referring to it as “dual forms”. Â More information is available here: http://www.angelfire.com/empir…..gon_haven/
It's a very interesting worldview, especially the parts about awakenings being assisted from outside and the pitfalls that come with that. Â I don't know how much I agree with any of it, but it's certainly a unique perspective.
At the moment, though, I hesitate to add it to the list of resources.  There's a statement made in the course of the text that stops me dead in my tracks, and I really don't know that my sense of honor/duty/morality will allow me to add it to the directory with that statement.  I know people are capable of making their own analysis of the sites I link to, and coming to their own conclusions about the material there, but I don't think that in good conscience I can point anyone there without (at the least) a major disclaimer like the one I'm making right now.  And even now I'm hesitating before posting it, though I know the folks in this forum should be more than able  to handle it.
Honestly, I'm sort of hoping one of you guys will know of another site where the concept of parallel lives (or dual forms, or whatever you want to call them) are discussed in an otherkin context that doesn't have the accompanying idea that dying as a human means you just wake up in your nonhuman form.

What's the statement that bothers you?
Â
I don't think I know that specific group, but I used to know a gret many people, especially but not only fae, who considered themselves “co-located” – in other words, simultaneously living here on Earth and on their other world. I'm in a similar situation in that I believe my “other half” has an existence out there separate from mine, though I don't have a direct link to it.

“When my human form dies my soul naturally goes back to its true form.”

With the exception of multiples who include walkins, I've only run into one person who's talked about co-location. (And for the multiples, it's more like they come and go while one of their headmates runs the body here, not they're both places at once.)

Hmmm. I don’t subjectively experience it that way, no. I have sometimes speculated that that’s what’s “really” going on since I have no memory of death, dissolution, ejection, travel, etc. from either the sidhe or celestial spaces in my head.

Can’t make any cites, but I seem to recall a few people talking about it in this fashion (“co-location”). Dunno how many of them meant something like I implied above (= not a conscious subjective experience of “stretching” or multiplication, but something theoretical to explain experience of time frames).

Did you actually find a live community (community in the broader sense), or just this page with its implications that there were more people than the site creator?

Is there not a general disclaimer on the links area? If you really feel that strongly about this one, maybe just an extra line, to the effect of “provided for informational purposes only; dreamhart site owner very much does not endorse or agree with”?

*nods* I at times wonder about that myself, especially since uncovering some memories that appear to occur later in one life than what I thought was my death (there's a gap in memories that has a certain abruptness to it that I initially interpreted as a sudden death).  But I experience them as memories.  I can spiritwalk/shamanic-journey/pick-your-terminology to the worlds I remember, and see them as they are now, but that's a conscious decision and not something that just happens automatically like I've seen co-location described.  I can also sometimes step into my headmate Alaereth's body (he's a walkin with a body back home) but I'm not very good at it and I haven't had much reason to do so beyond curiosity.  That's closer to co-location, but still not the same.

Hmm… dunno.  Now that you mention it, I do vaguely recall something else along these same lines but I don't remember where I heard it and it may have been on a private list.  People who thought their original bodies were being held in stasis till they got back.

A live community.  Not sure how live, but there are at least two members-only message boards on their forum with posts as recent as today.  I'm debating joining to have a look-see.

Nope. Â For the most part, I've only been linking to sites that I'm generally comfortable with. Â I've left out the ones that really squick me. Â This one squicks me with that one line, but the rarity of the concept pulls me back. Â Maybe I should add some kind of overall disclaimer to it…

*nods* Maybe, though if I start down that path with this one then in fairness I would have to add the other sites that's true for. Â I'd really prefer to just look for mention of the concept elsewhere, that doesn't take it in the “If I die in this life, I get to be my trueform full-time again!” direction.
