Shining Hearth staff signups are open!

Staff signups are now open for Shining Hearth. We are looking for people to volunteer to moderate chat, to run the schedule, and to provide technical support for those who may be having trouble using Discord, getting streaming working, etc. You can select only one of those or any combination. The form is available here and will remain open through November 19.

Staff signups for Shining Hearth will close in five days! The form is still available at https://forms.gle/PFz1aZzUKb9ZAAE2A. We have two signups so far and are hoping we can get a couple more. If you have any questions about what would be required of you, please feel free to ask!

Presenter signups for Shining Hearth are ongoing! So far we have two firm submissions and a couple expressions of interest. We are looking for about ten presentations total, so there’s plenty of room still in the schedule. The form is available here and will remain open through December 31.

Reminder of future dates:
Presenter signups close – December 31 (late signups may be accepted if space is available)
General registration – January 1, 2022 through March 16
Schedule posted – early February (tentative)
The gathering! – March 18-20, 2022

We got enough presentations submitted to fill the schedule, but we would like to have a few backup workshops in case of presenters having to cancel. If you would be interested in being an alternate presenter, the form is still open here.

Looking for replacement staff and presenter

We’ve lost contact with one of our staff members who was also giving a presentation and are looking for replacements. You must be 18 years of age or older and have or be willing to create a Discord account. Other requirements:

Staff: Have duties of chat moderator, schedule runner (make sure next presenter is ready to go and give time warnings), and technical support (help with technical problems on Discord). Prefer if we can get all three (whether in one person or more), but schedule running is the most important. Must commit to being present on all three days of the event, Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20, and to checking the server for messages regularly between now and then. Presenter: Give a talk, discussion, demo, performance, etc. of approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. Topics directly related to elves/fae/etc. are preferred. Topics of general interest to otherkind will also be considered. Must commit to this timeslot: Sunday, March 20, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Central Time (9:30 AM Pacific, 10:30 Mountain, 12:30 Eastern), to check in 30 minutes ahead of time on that day, and to checking the server for messages regularly between now and then. Registration for Shining Hearth will close on March 16th. Between staff, presenters, people still on the server from last year, and new registrations, we anticipate we might see around 50 people this year (!). If you’d like to join us, you can register here!
