Reminder: Otherkin Chat 7pm EST Tonight - OLD | Online Events | Forums

Just wanted to give an update on the chat.  It went off as-scheduled without a hitch.  There ended up being 7 people there for most of the  evening, though an 8th dropped by briefly to say she couldn't stay, and conversation continued until roughly 11pm EST before petering out.  

Did learn that the new bot for the channel needs some more work (I'm not happy with a lot of its default actions) so I'm going to spend some more time fixing those up and hopefully expanding its capabilities, but as first runs go I don't think it was too bad.  We did hear more from the psychological/skeptic branch of the community than I was initially expecting, but for the most part it went well.

Well, this week's chat did not go off very well.  Only one person other than me showed up, at 22:00 EST (10pm).  And, sadly, by that time I'd already fallen asleep on the couch.  Not sure if people were busy this week, if there was a lack of interest, if I didn't announce it enough on other IRC channels, or if I didn't post the reminders for it far enough in advance and follow them up with the 10-minute-warning I used last time.  Will keep playing around with it, and hopefully keeping them regular will help increase attendance over time.  Though, if people would rather have them on a different day and time please let me know.

This week went much better.  There were 9 people total in attendance, including myself, with a max of 8 at any one time.  The chat really began a few minutes after 7pm EST as everyone filtered in, and got off to a slow start as we got to know each other and tried to decide on a topic.  But, we ended up going strong until about 2:10am when things really started to break up.  I'd count that as a success. 🙂

It's Thursday, so its that time again: Weekly otherkin chat is taking place again today at 7pm EST.  Help spread the word.  And come, if you can. 🙂

Just reminding folks, the chat is tonight.  It officially starts at 7pm, but the channel already has me and two other people in it so don't think you have to wait if you want to come early.  Reminders will appear on livejournal, dreamwidth, twitter, and facebook as usual.

Amazing turnout tonight: 12 people, 6 of whom were new, including a visit from solarbird/Rykandar Korrati the owner of the Elfinkind Digest.  Conversation continued until about 4am EST when things started to really break up.
