Reverse Engineering the Orgone Crystal Matrix

The Orgone Crystal Matrix, popularly known in the Otherkin community as the "Babalon Matrix" or "Reiki Matrix", has been an obsession of mine for nearly ten years now.  I first encountered the device in June of 1999, at Walking the Thresholds 2.  I had never seen a magical tool like it before, and I very quickly came to the conclusion that I wanted to learn to make a Matrix of my own.  After years of further study in various metaphysical paths, and research into all currently available information about the original Orgone Crystal Matrix design, I believe I have finally accomplished that.

I'm presently working on an extensive post about the Babalon Matrix, a magical device which has been used in conjunction with Reiki among other metaphysical systems. That's a more advanced topic, however, and before I get into it I would like to introduce my readers to something that is essentially the Matrix's little brother: Crystal Grids.  It should help to provide a foundation for the later material.

I've been having a lot of trouble writing this post about the basics of orgonomy. Originally, part of the problem was that I was finding conflicting reports about how orgone was discovered, and I needed to sort through them to find the most authoritative sources and establish the correct time-line of events. Unfortunately, from there, I found another problem: orgone wasn't discovered as a single event, it was discovered in stages along a line of exploration that led from psychoanalysis to biology to (apparent) bio-genesis to finally discovering and working with the orgone energy itself.

I've been giving a lot of thought to the subject of Shamanism recently. Particularly the question of how a Shaman relates to the gods/spirits they work with. I have to say, I completely agree with [info]per_akh's statement that completely giving oneself over to the dictates of the spirit world to point where it eclipses your work, your relationships, and even your responsibilities to your children sounds extremely unhealthy. Some people have suggested that this attitude is what distinguishes the Shaman, in service to the spirits/gods, from the Shamanist. So far, I'm not really convinced by that line of reasoning.

Rialian teaches this method as the method generally used by most Reiki "traditionalists", including the tradition he recieved his lineage from, as it comes from the quite popular Diane Stein school of Reiki. He observes that it may have originally become part of the Stein traditions through Mantak Chia.
